AVFilm aims to welcome everyone and offer equitable access to our films and programs; we must shift to a proactive, equity-centered approach in all aspects of our work.
We crafted a living document designed to serve as a blueprint forward. The Board of Directors has resolved to use this Equity Statement to drive our decisions in every area of who we are and what we do.
In 2024, we set aside funds to operationalize our learning and create a two-year incubator of DEBA implementation across our organization to strengthen and expand our work and collaboration with underserved community members. We will hire a consultant to embed with staff and develop and implement opportunities for diverse community engagement. The community engagement efforts, developed in partnership with trusted community organizations, will allow us to take our practices into the community, creating opportunities for diverse communities to experience film and media arts in new and visionary ways. We will design and then implement new ideas and strategies at the speed of trust.
The financial contributions made over the last year by our donors and sponsors have supported AVFilm by making all of our work possible!
