AVFILM PRESENTS SHELTER IN PLACE SERIES

AVFilm has launched the Shelter in Place Series, a variety of online programming designed to help the community #StayConnected through film during California’s mandatory shelter in place restrictions. Patrons may participate in various ways: take part in live filmmaker Q&As/discussions on Sundays via webinars; stream newly released films as part of the Arthouse Screening Series on Mondays; and join Film & Food Event takeout/watch parties designed to support local restaurants and wineries. Distance learning classes for students are also available. Proceeds from the ticket sales of the Arthouse Screening Series will support AVFilm’s annual educational and cultural programs.

WHAT: An online series of live discussions, distance learning classes, streaming opportunities, and watch parties to keep communities connected through film during the shelter in place restrictions.

WHO: Families, foodies, film fans, community members near and far, and supporters of AVFilm can #StayConnected through film events and discussions online.

WHEN: Sundays feature local filmmakers Q&As via webinar; Mondays offer a new film for streaming as part of the Arthouse Screening Series (box office proceeds will help fund AVFS); Wednesdays are Film & Food Events.

About AVFilm

AVFilm began in 2015 when film lovers in Cloverdale and Healdsburg came together with a goal of bringing the rural North Bay more access to cinema arts events and education. The first AVFest featured 24 films across four days on four screens in two cities. In the eight years since our origin, AVFilm has exhibited more than 500 films and now serves more than 5,000 people, 1,000 public school students, and 600 lifelong learners through year-round educational and cultural programming. Through the transformative power of film, AVFilm brings global perspectives into our community, builds partnerships to broaden our impact, and educates, empowers, and engages students of all ages.
