SYNOPSIS:
After receiving devastating news, John, a window cleaner in Belfast, is confronted with the impossible decision of finding an adoptive family for his four-year-old son, Michael. Together, they meet a series of prospective parents, all the while attempting to shelter Michael from the life-changing circumstances that lie ahead. Pasolini’s film is surprisingly understated and restrained, never veering into the melodramatic territory one might expect. Instead, it revels in the unique father-son bond they share, magnifying small gestures and intimate moments. James Norton shines in the lead role and has incredible chemistry with Daniel Lamont who plays his son. Nowhere Special is a subtle, humane, heart-wrenching film that you won’t soon forget.
